Tamera has 19 years of radio under her belt, as well as 17 years as a professional voice artist… appearing in several TV and radio commercials, video games, documentaries, websites, and company videos.
Aside from working in Norfolk, VA for a year, Tamera's lived in C-U her whole life. Born at Burnham, she was edumacated at Carrie Busey, Jefferson, Centennial, Parkland, and the U-of-I. She's a member of the Friends of the Champaign Public Library, a Friend of WILL-TV (PBS), and volunteer for Special Olympics.

O.K. a little about me:
Married 13 years to Becky.
3 kids all 11 years old (Yes Triplets) Tanner Marie, Taylor Joy and Tucker Nathanial
Almost 18 years in radio 16 and 1/2 of them at 92.5.
Last good movie I saw... Man it's been a while since I saw a GOOD Movie!
Favorite Music: What Ever The Chief Wants! Lol!!! Actually I like what The Chief is playing but I also like all kinds of music. If you were to come to my house you would see alot of Classical CDs.
Last Good Book I Read: Again it has been along time since I read a book that I could not put down.
Favorite Food: Got to be Italian and it has got to be The Italian Patio... OK I like just about any thing. A figure like mine does not happen by accident.

FACTS RADIO PEOPLE ALWAYS SEEM EAGER TO SHARE:
Book: I try to read at least one per week, but it’s usually 3-4 at the same time (very confusing)
Movie: 9 times outta 10, I’ll wait for video. I’m cheap and really picky.
Music: all kinds, which makes being on The Chief perfect for me!! Other than that, I really love classic country.
Hobbies: see above, plus staying active (gym, sports, cycling)
Food: breakfast stuff always rocks
Drink: yes
Most Underrated Show on TV: Friday Night Lights – well, critics love it, viewers are missing out
Cubs or Cardinals: Cardinals
Fave thing about C/U: the vibrant atmosphere downtown, especially during the summer – people everywhere!! Love those Illini, too!
Coolest Celeb: Ellen Degeneres
Uncoolest Celeb: the Britney Bunch…and anyone who says other people on the set can’t look them in the eye. Get a grip!!
What scares me: the women in Oprah’s audience (just kidding, Oprah – don’t come after me!!)

Welcome to the New 92.5 The Chief.
It's a new generation of radio station for Champaign-Urbana.
We’d like to say we did a ton of research and asked you, the loyal Champaign-Urbana listener what you wanted from a radio station, but we didn’t. Instead, we got The Chief and are playing what he wants.
The Chief is unique and different. It’s not like any other radio station. For years, listeners have complained that radio play lists are too limited, too repetitious, there’s too many commercials, too much stupid DJ chatter and it’s generally boring.... Blah, blah, blah. Enough already. Then along came The Chief.
Most stations only play a couple hundred songs, and they play one or two styles of music from a very specific time period. Some of the more adventurous stations may even play THREE styles of music. Woo Whoo! These are the real risk takers! The Chief plays a bunch of songs in a row from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. And, we play them from almost ALL styles of music. Well, not polka everyone has their limits.
As it turns out, we decided on “Playing What The Chief Wants.” The Chief is playing the best songs from the 60’s 70's, 80's & 90's.
Just a bunch of songs in a row. We hope you like it, or not, your call. It’s The New 92.5 The Chief.
The Chief was born in a remote part of Champaign County also know as a corn field.
The Chief never attended School…he was busy working at the local grain mill…got his first job at the age of 4.
While working at the Mill the Chief suffered a career ending injury and now lives off of the Government.
With The Chief’s huge lawsuit settlement…he bought a local radio station…the rest is history.
